The oval wooden back fits in the palm without a handle, and a shallow groove along each side gives the fingers a hold. Dense dark bristles cover the underside. The brush mixes the boar hair with some added stiffening bristles. Wood tone varies from piece to piece and may show knots or rings.

Care: wipe the wood with a damp cloth. If needed, wash the bristles a couple of times a year with mild shampoo and let the brush air dry. Do not soak it in water or alcohol. Some shedding is normal when new.
