The shallow round body and the flat lid are both stainless steel. The lid presses on over a raised band near the top of the container, and the flat top lets several containers stack in a lunch bag, drawer or fridge. One container holds a single portion: hummus, dressing, nuts, cut fruit, crackers or a few cookies for a child's lunch or a desk snack.
