Silvertip badger hair shaving brush with a turned birch wood handle, 4 x 2 in, for whipping shaving soap into a lather and spreading it over the face.
The knot of silvertip badger hair sits in a gold-tone collar at the top of the handle. The birch handle has a rounded body that narrows at the waist and flares into a flat base, and the wood grain shows as rings around it. Wet the brush, swirl it on a puck of shaving soap to load it, then build the lather in a bowl or directly on the face. Some shedding is normal when the brush is new.
